On behalf of one of our clients we are looking for Compliance Monitoring & Oversight Team Lead to join their team.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensuring spots checks and tests of key financial crime controls are adequately undertaken by the team, in accordance to the Compliance Monitoring Plan for Outsourced Controls
  • Supporting the team on an ongoing basis and providing guidance and subject matter expertise to ensure that spot checks are undertaken appropriately and accurately in a timely manner
  • Supporting the Head of CMO and Vice President in designing and documenting the Compliance Monitoring Plan and Framework for Outsourced Controls, including team procedures and guidelines
  • Collating stats, figures and data on the output of spot checks and producing regular management information reports for internal and external use
  • Leading meetings to feed the CMO findings and results back to external parties who own the outsourced controls
  • Liaising with internal and external teams and stakeholders as needed to leverage information, data and support required for the control checks and testing initiatives
  • Effectively manage direct reports including their performance, development and appraisal.

Ideally, your skills will include :

  • Experience working within the financial services sector in a compliance/financial crime capacity either in the first or second Lines of Defense
  • Experience in leading teams of at least 4 members
  • Experience in drafting policies and procedures
  • Experience management reporting including data
  • Strong practical understanding of key financial crime concepts and controls such as Customer Due Diligence, PEP/Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, Fraud and Suspicious Activity Reporting
  • Strong presence and excellent people management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (Fluency in English is a must)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Seamless organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work with large data sets and produce management information including KPIs and KRIs
  • Agility and the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing priorities
  • Excellent computer skills (ability to work with Excel/Pivot tables, Word)
