Functional Safety Engineer

Currently, for one of our clients - a fast-growing International technology company, we are looking to hire Functional Safety Engineer to join their successful team. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and integrate ASIL relevant enhancements such as inverters, DC-DC converters, and on-Board chargers into the Vehicle Safety Architecture.
• Conduct concept, design, and implementation work for all functional safety functions, including the creation of documents like Hazard and Risk Analysis (HARA) and Safety Concepts.
• Specify safety requirements and concepts for system, hardware, and software architectures.
• Manage all safety requirements through effective Requirements Management with our Brands and external partners.
• Assist in designing Functional Safety, SOTIF, and Cyber Security processes aligned with an efficient toolchain.
• Conduct System Product Safety Audits and Assessments for safety relevant projects in accordance with ISO26262, including confirmation reviews for ASIL (up to D) related projects.
• Contribute to the expert judgment team for Safety Analysis (FMEA, FTA, and DFA).
• Serve as the DFA expert responsible for educating, supporting, and coaching team members.
• Oversee Distributed Development and Supplier Management per ISO26262, including supplier selection for System, Software, Hardware, and Test domains.
• Ensure compliance of ASIC development documentation as per ISO26262 by evaluating supplier documentation (FIT rate, Failure Mode and Distribution) and aligning it with internal item development to achieve target Hardware metrics.
• Manage, coach, and train Functional Safety engineers in the team.

Job Requirements:

• Possess a university degree in Electronics, Automotive Electronics, Automation, or another relevant field.
• Excellent knowledge of the ISO 26262 standard.
• Strong understanding of design and development processes.
• Experience participating in Functional Safety audits.
• Good understanding of power electronics.
• Extensive experience in reliability calculations.
• Design to cost mindset.
• Proficient in computer skills, including general-purpose and specialized quality software.
• Previous experience within the Automotive Industry.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.
